It’s not about you.

It’s about all those waiting for you to shine and share your specific form of Light and Magic with the world.

What’s the pay-off from continuing to hide in plain sight by playing small?

Take a closer look at the three sentences above. Do any, some or all, strike a chord with you? Is there some memory of a forgotten promise to say “yes,” that you’re now recalling? What’s keeping you from sharing and shining your Light?

My guess is it’s the “F-word!” No, not that one (geez, where’s your mind?!) I mean the other four-letter f-word: F-E-A-R.

Ugh, right? I mean how do you even begin to know how to unpack that monster? Since this isn’t therapy, allow me to dig-in just a little bit into the power you’ve probably (unknowingly) given to this other “four-letter f-word.”

I’m sure you’ve heard the often-quoted definition of fear courtesy of A Course In Miracles, but just in case, here it is to job your memory.

Fear is “False Evidence Appearing Real.”

Read that again…false evidence, nothing legit about it. And yet, we give away our choices by believing the false as real and denying the reality of this falsehood. Pretty convoluted, huh?

Let’s revisit my opening question to you once more with even more feeling now that we’ve unpacked and slightly dug into the role fear plays in shaping your mindset. “What’s the payoff from continuing to hide in plain sight by playing small?” Any response arise for you yet?

Here’s what comes-up for me: “The payoff is I get to keep my allegiance to my fear of being seen without ever acknowledging my real “fear” isn’t me failing, but actually it’s (stunned audible inhale) the possibility of not failing.

Yup. I said it. Why?…Because it’s the Truth.

For you see not failing would mean having to show-up consistently as my true self. That’s not easy. Who could I blame for my shortcomings in life if my life no longer appeared short on opportunity or success.

Even as I type these words, hesitation sidles into my hands and tempts me to stop. For my fear knows and I know that once I hit “post” on this post there’s no going back to invisibility. But, I made a promise that I intend to keep to someone that counts on me to tell her the Truth: My little girl.

As her mother I’m inspired by her determination to overcome her challenges from Childhood Apraxia Of Speech. More than anything she longs to communicate clearly and speak her dreams into reality. But, due to reasons without any known cause, she can’t. At least, not yet!

The mantra in our home is “Nothing is impossible!” When she says it daily in her own way she closes her eyes. She does this because she believes that if you wish for something you have to shut your eyes in order for it to come true. Like I said, her commitment to her vision and dreams inspires me.

A few days ago I made her a promise. I told her that since I can speak, I will use my voice to speak for those that can’t. I mean that on every level.

As a mom in a greater sense I want to donate a certain percentage of my Life Coaching income to raising funds for children like Holly with Childhood Apraxia Of Speech.

As a Life Coach I want to inspire you to stop waiting for the “perfect” time for your Dream life to begin so you can feel good and create your Happily Ever, Now…not, after.

There’s no time like the Present to share your Dream and speak it into reality. And, there is no time that exists except the Present. So, why not you? And, why not, Now? Who are you NOT to change the world by shining your Light and sharing your specific form of Magic with all those that have been waiting for your Voice to reach them? Use your Voice because you can, period.
